This website explains a program designed to enhance elementary science education using real meteorites in the classroom. Making rocks from space accessible to elementary school classes brings outer space closer. Classroom kits include real meteorite fragments of substantial size from the Odessa, Texas, crater and curriculum units with activities that support space and earth science elements. Ten identical kits are planned, and these will be made available to Austin ISD schools through the AISD Science and Health Resource Center.
