Research and Development Action Team

Overall Goal

To establish ways to support cooperative and collaborative research and evaluation projects.

Accomplishments

  • Implemented a program in which UT graduate students were placed as research and evaluation interns in AISD.
  • Submitted collaborative grant proposals. The most recent success is the Texas Center for Reading and Language Arts funded by TEA.
  • Developed a computer database and World Wide Web page of educational grants and funding opportunities.
  • Established a computer database of research priorities and background information of UT College of Education faculty members, searchable by keywords.
  • Organized an action research workshop and follow-up sessions for participants.
  • Published quarterly "Research Bulletin" to disseminate findings from research projects carried out in the AISD.
  • Coordinated the program evaluation activities of the collaborative.

Priorities for 1997-1998

  • Submit collaborative grant proposals as opportunities arise.
  • Publish the "Research Bulletin".
  • Support other collaborative initiatives.
