Public Job Fair for Certified Candidates

• Representatives from 111 elementary, middle and high school campuses from across the District will be available to meet you!
• Candidates will only be admitted by showing proof of certification. Student teachers can bring a copy of a transcript showing enrollment in student teaching. ACP participants can bring a letter from the ACP program showing proof of participation. CANDIDATES CURRENTLY WORKING ON DEFICIENCY PLANS WILL NOT BE ADMITTED.
• A Certified Candidate is an individual who currently holds a standard, provisional or professional Texas certificate or who is fully certified in another state.
• A completed application with the Austin ISD Office of Human Resources is recommended. You may apply on-line here.
• Please bring copies of your resume.

NOTE: Applicants with out-of-state certificates should click here to go to the State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC) website for information regarding Certification Based on Credentials from Outside Texas, and the application procedures.

Due to the No Child Left Behind Highly Qualified Teacher Standards, all teachers hired by AISD must be highly qualified in the core content area they will teach (Math, English, Science, Social Studies, Dance, Art, Music, Theatre Arts, and all Foreign Languages). Out-of-state applicants must apply for a Review of Credentials, their Texas One Year Certificate, and take the appropriate context exam. If SBEC determines during the Review of Credentials that you have a test comparable to the Texas exams, upon receipt of written approval from SBEC, you may be considered highly qualified once your Texas One Year Certificate has been issued.
