Budget & Bond Construction
Austin School Trustees approved a $731 million
budget for the 2004-05 school year—one that
they say will strengthen teaching and learning
across the District and improve employee compensation.
2004 Bond
The successful passage of six bond propositions totaling $519.5 million on Saturday, September 11, 2004 is
attributed to unprecedented community involvement in the process and strong voter approval in all parts
of the city.
2002 Health & Safety Bond
Meanwhile, AISD’s 2002 Health & Safety Bond Initiative is nearing completion on the third year of a four-year implementation
schedule. All of the first-year projects that focused on mold remediation and roofing are complete.The
multifaceted, second-year projects that not only dealt with mold remediation and roofing, but also with ventilation,
site drainage, and window replacement are nearing completion.Of these 20 projects, 18 are finished.
