Austin ISD Efficiency Study
The Superintendent and Board of Trustees have engaged MGT of America to conduct an efficiency
study of the district.
What's the purpose of the efficiency study?
The study is designed to determine whether the District is operating at optimum efficiency
and carrying out financial management principles in a manner that would a) encourage increased
efficiency and effectiveness of the AISD and maximize the amount of money available to improve
education in the classroom; and b) increase public confidence that AISD is using money for
public schools efficiently and wisely.
What areas will be under review in the efficiency study?
The MGT team will be completing an in-depth assessment of the areas covered by the study:
- Financial Management
- Facilities Management
- Staffing levels at central office, auxiliary services, and schools
- Class Loads and Scheduling Alternatives
- Transportation Management
- Energy Management
- Professional Services Contracts
- Management Structure of AISD

The MGT team conducted an open house on February 19th at martin Middle School to gather community input. Thanks to all those that participated!

When will the findings of the study be available?
MGT will present the final report of the efficiency study at the Monday, June 1st Board Meeting.
