Nearly 800 Austin School District Middle School Students Complete Gang Resistance GREAT Program This Year
May 15, 2008
Nearly 500 seventh grade students at Martin and Burnet middle schools, and nearly 300 sixth grade students at Fulmore Middle School completed Gang Resistance Education Training (GREAT) class, joining approximately 400 schoolmates who graduated from the program in December.

UPDATE ON AUSTIN SCHOOL CLOSINGS

The Austin School District has now added five additional elementary campuses to the list of schools that will be closed today, because there is either insufficient or intermittent electrical power to each of the facilities, as a result of last night’s storms.

Anderson High School To Dedicate Plaque to Alumnus Killed in Iraq

Staff and students at Austin’s Anderson High School will dedicate a plaque on Friday, May 16, for one of their own — U.S. Army Capt. Michael Norman, a 1989 graduate who was killed in Iraq in January.
