The Press Office offers assistance to print, broadcast and online media with interview requests, access to campuses and locating archived photos, news stories and press releases.

The Austin Independent School District is committed to cultivating and maintaining an open and productive relationship with the news media. The district recognizes that the media are a source of information about public schools for families and the community.

The district also recognizes the importance of ensuring the safety and privacy of students, staff, and families. District officials, schools, and staff will cooperate with the news media to the extent required and appropriate by law, while ensuring that media coverage does not interfere with teaching and learning.

The Department of Public Relations and Multicultural Outreach is charged with media relations and will support all schools (campuses) and departments manage all interactions with reporters and news organizations. Contact us at (512) 414-2414.
