Nutrition, Fundraising, and Vending Policy
Elementary: Middle School: High School: Foods of Minimal Nutritional Value (FMNV's) and Candy Elementary: Middle school: High school: All campuses: Fund-Raising and Vending Machines: Campuses may not sell food or beverages for any fund-raising activity during the school day, except during one of the three exemption days. These food sales may not be held in the cafeteria or areas where meals are consumed during meal times and may not prohibit students access to school meals. Parents may bring items to celebrate their child's birthday; however, they cannot be provided to students in the cafeteria during meal serving times. A campus may develop additional guidelines concerning birthday celebrations, such as number of celebrations per month and certain time to celebrate, so as not to interfere with instructional time. Vending machines in middle school and high school will only be stocked with healthy and healthier items. All FMNV's and candy (including chocolate and pastry items) are prohibited from any vending machines on any AISD campus. Vending machines will only be stocked with items that are "healthiest and healthier" on the Accent Foods vending product list. |
